Connecting the Next Generation with Forestry: KIFC at Jambore Nasional XII 2026

Korea–Indonesia Forest Cooperation Center (KIFC) participated in Jambore Nasional XII Tahun 2026, held at Bumi Perkemahan dan Graha Wisata (Buperta) Cibubur, East Jakarta, from 14–20 August 2026. Through an interactive exhibition booth at the Global Development Village (GDV), KIFC introduced its forestry cooperation projects and initiatives while promoting greater awareness of sustainable forest management and Korea–Indonesia cooperation among young participants.

KIFC operated its exhibition booth from 15–20 August 2026, excluding 17 August, providing visitors with opportunities to learn more about KIFC, its ongoing projects, and its forestry-related initiatives through interactive activities, project information, and discussions. The booth was designed to create an engaging learning experience by combining information on forestry cooperation with interactive activities. Visitors were introduced to KIFC and its ongoing projects while exploring topics related to sustainable forest management and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The main activities included the Korea–Indonesia Partnership Game, SDGs Spin Wheel, and DIY Pin-Making Activity. These activities enabled participants to learn about KIFC’s forestry initiatives through an accessible and interactive approach while actively engaging with the exhibition. Through the SDGs Spin Wheel, participants were introduced to the 17 SDGs and their relevance to KIFC’s forestry cooperation projects and initiatives. Meanwhile, the Korea–Indonesia Partnership Game encouraged participants to explore KIFC’s projects through a hands-on and enjoyable learning experience.

Over the five days of booth operation, approximately 1,800 Jambore participants visited and engaged with the KIFC exhibition booth, with an average of around 360 visitors per day. The activities also provided opportunities for direct discussions with participants on various forestry-related topics. During the event, participants discussed forest and land fires, KIFC projects and their alignment with the SDGs, as well as peatland-related issues. Participants also took part in project-based games and creative activities, including designing and making their own pins.

KIFC’s participation in Jambore Nasional XII Tahun 2026 served as a platform to bring the Korea–Indonesia partnership in forestry closer to the public, particularly the younger generation. By combining project information with interactive educational activities, KIFC aimed to make forestry cooperation more accessible and understandable while encouraging greater awareness of the importance of forests, sustainable forest management, and environmental responsibility.

KIFC’s participation concluded on 20 August 2026, followed by the dismantling of the exhibition booth and the collection and organization of exhibition materials and equipment. Through initiatives such as this, KIFC continues to strengthen public engagement and promote Korea–Indonesia cooperation in support of sustainable forest management, while creating opportunities for the next generation to learn, interact, and develop greater awareness of the importance of forests and environmental sustainability.
