Bringing the Magic of Korean Forests to Bandung: KIFC Captivates Youth at K-Halal & Healthy Food Event 2026
Bandung, June 7, 2026 – The Main Atrium of 23 Paskal Shopping Center in Bandung was buzzing with high energy for three consecutive days (June 5–7, 2026). Amidst the vibrant K-Pop and K-Beauty vibes, a unique attraction stole the spotlight and captured the hearts of thousands of Bandung residents: natural health secrets straight from the heart of South Korea’s forests. At the K-Halal & Healthy Food Event 2026, organized by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), the Korea–Indonesia Forest Cooperation Center (KIFC), alongside PT KOFPI, successfully turned environmental awareness into a delicious and healthy lifestyle trend by introducing K-Forest Food.
This was far from an ordinary food bazaar. The grand opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia, Yoon Soon-gu, and the Vice Mayor of Bandung, Erwin. Their presence underscored that the partnership between Korea and Indonesia has evolved far beyond formal economic ties—it has now deeply connected through culture and sustainable development.

“Through culture, the people of our two countries can better understand one another and become closer,” said Ambassador Yoon Soon-gu, warmly welcoming the enthusiasm of Bandung’s youth.
Echoing this sentiment, the Vice Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, hoped the event would serve as a powerful emotional bridge. “We hope this event will become a momentum to expand empathy and cultural exchange between our two countries in the future,” he noted.
Who knew forest resources could be transformed into premium, trendy snacks? At the KIFC and PT KOFPI booths, visitors were invited to explore the rich world of functional foods derived from sustainably managed forests. Some of the star attractions included Omija Tea & Jujube Products, the absolute crowd-pleasers during the tasting sessions. The refreshing five-flavor berry tea (omija) and the natural sweetness of Korean dates (jujube) instantly won over the visitors’ palates. Ginseng, Doraji (Balloon Flower), & Pickled Products: Traditional immunity-boosting remedies packed for the modern lifestyle. Through interactive education and complimentary tasting sessions, KIFC brilliantly demonstrated that preserving forests can go hand-in-hand with business innovation and public wellness.
It wasn’t just a treat for the tastebuds; the KIFC booth also served as an educational window for the public curious about the “Green” collaboration between Korea and Indonesia. Visitors were treated to engaging brochures, booklets, and direct insights from the KIFC team regarding ongoing and successfully completed forestry projects across Indonesia.
By participating in this event, KIFC did more than just promote products—it inspired the community about the vital importance of Sustainable Forest Management.
Blown away by the overwhelming response from the people of Bandung, KIFC is committed to continuing its presence in similar public events. Moving forward, this culinary and cultural “green diplomacy” is expected to further tighten bilateral ties while inspiring a lifestyle that is more in harmony with nature. Perhaps, from a single sip of Omija tea, a greener future for our forests is born!
