KIFC meets the Vice Minister of MoEF

KIFC has an opportunity to meet H.E. Mr. Alue Dohong, the Vice Minister of Environment and Forestry, Republic of Indonesia. We discussed our priority cooperation project on “Restoration of Burnt Peatland in Jambi”. Mr. Alue Dohong appreciates this cooperation project and gives some advice in project implementation.

The peatland project has been started in 2019 and is expected for completion by the end of 2022. This project brings 4 main activities, including revegetation, rewetting, revitalization, and development of a mini education center.

Through this project, Korea and Indonesia intend to ensure a healthy sustainable peatland by conserving its biodiversity and contributing to reducing climate change and fostering the local community to improve their livelihoods.
