The XV WFC was organized by Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Korea Forest Service (KFS) by bringing a theme of “Building a Green, Healthy and Resilient Future with Forests”. The event was conducted with over 15,000 participants from 146 countries representing governments and public agencies, international organizations, the private sector, academic and research institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and community and Indigenous organizations.

Korea-Indonesia Forest Cooperation Center (KIFC), as a bilateral organization between Korea and Indonesia, also participated in this event. We opened an exhibition booth at Hall B Coex to promote our work and effort in facilitating and strengthening forestry cooperation. During this event, KIFC’s booth was visited by the Indonesian Ambassador to Korea (H.E. Mr. Gandi Sulistiyanto) and the Head of Indonesian Delegation / DG MoEF (Dr. Agus Justianto), as well as participants from around the world.

In addition to the exhibition, we also show our effort in addressing climate change through a joint project on “Restoration of Burnt Peatland in Jambi”. As our current priority project, both governments intend to ensure a healthy peatlands ecosystem by conserving its biodiversity and contributing to reducing climate change, as well as fostering the local community through revitalization activity in villages.
