Korea Forest Service, the full-fledged project to restore damaged peatlands in Indonesia

The Korea Forest Service held a field office opening ceremony with Indonesian officials on the 24th from 1 PM (11 AM local time) for the full-scale start of the peatland restoration project promoted by the Korea-Indonesia bilateral cooperation project. It was held in Jambi, Indonesia.

The Korea Forest Service and the Korea-Indonesia Forest Center jointly promoted the opening ceremony of the field office, and the interest and cooperation of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry, officials in Jambi, the peatland project site, and local residents are important to the peatland restoration project.

At the opening ceremony of the field office, the Forest Service participated in the event through real-time video, and officials from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the International Cooperation Division and the peatland management department, a high-ranking official of the local government in Jambi, resident representatives from 10 regions, and the representative of Jambi University. About 50 people, including research associates, attended, congratulating the start of the project in earnest and promising cooperation in the project.
