International Symposium on Wood Biomass
Korea Green Promotion Agency (KGPA) and Perum Perhutani has conducted an International Symposium on Wood Biomass at Grand Candi Hotel in Semarang on 28-29 October 2015. The symposium was officially opened by Mr. Kong Young-ho – Director of KGPA, and attended by : His Excellency Mr. Cho Taiyoung – Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia; Mr. Lim Hasu – Director of Global Resources Division-Korea Forest Service (KFS); Mr. Mustoha Iskandar – President Director of Perhutani; and Mr. Bambang Trihartono – Director of Research, Development and Inovation, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), and about 80 participants from related parties, from Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The purpose of the symposium are :
- To introduce Korea-Indonesia wood biomass collaboration project between Korea Green Promotion Agency and Perhutani;
- To share the information of the wood biomass project among private, government and research sectors;
- To strengthen cooperative network among the three sectors for the development and improvement of the project;

Presentation and discussion was held in the first day on 28th October 2015, and at the second day on 29 October 2015 was for field visit. There were 8 (eight) presentations at the first day, as the following :

At the second day on 29th October, the participants visited the site of the Trial Plantation of Wood Biomass Collaboration Project (KGPA – Perhutani), which is located about 1.5 hours driving. During the field visit the participants had opportunities to see and discuss about trial plantation of Gliricidia sepium for wood biomass.
