Made a Courtesy Call

The First Secretary of Korean Embassy and KIFC Members Made a Courtesy Call to The Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystems Conservation, The Ministry of Environment and Forestry

On Wednesday morning, 9th June 2015, the First Secretary of the Korean Embassy, Mr. LEE Sang Ick and the members of KIFC made a courtesy call to the new Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystems Conservation, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Dr. Tachrir Fathoni. During the visit, the Director General was accompanied by Dr. Novianto Bambang, The Secreatary of the Directorate General. The members of KIFC who joint the visit were : Mr. OH Key-Pyo (Director), Mr. Sugeng Marsudiarto (Co-Director), Ms. LEE Young Ju (Assistant to Director), Mr. MOON Jong-pil (Project Manager).

The objectives of the visit was, firstly to congratulate the Director General for his new assignment, secondly introducing the First Secretary of Korean Embassy and KIFC members, and lastly informing the collaboration project on forest recreation development in Tunak, West Nusa Tenggara.

Dr. Tachrir welcomed the visit and expressed his appreciation for the project collaboration in Tunak. Concerning the Tunak collaboration project, he suggested : 1. the design of buildings, trails, camping ground that is being developed by Korea Forest Service (KFS) and KIFC could meet the need of the local situation and the final design could be presented to him; 2. the design of the building should include office building; 3. To develop new collaboration projects on : a. ‘Self Sufficient Energy Village’ using biomass energy/wood pellet; b. Developing forest farmers cooperatives. The reasons for the new proposed project are : a. Korea has technology and experiences in developing biomass energy and also in developing farmers cooperatives.
