Ceremony of Kick-Off Harvesting of Accacia mangium at The Area of Planting Cooperation Between Perum Perhutani and PT. Korea-Indonesia Forest Cooperative (PT. KIFC)
On Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Parungpanjang- Bogor was held a small ceremony of Kick-off harvesting of Accacia mangium in the framework of planting cooperation between Perum Perhutani and PT. KIFC (PT. Korea Indonesia Forestry Cooperative) which is a subsidiary of NFCF (National Forestry Cooperative Federation) – Korea.

The event was attended by about 150 people representing both sides, NFCF/PT. KIFC and Perum Perhutani, and also local people and local government and local students. Attending the event from the Korean side were Mr. Lee Seok-Hyung (NFCF Chairman) and his Team; President Director of PT. KIFC Indonesia Mr. Yoon Kyung-il and his Team; President Director of Korea-Green Promotion Agency (KGPA)- Indonesia, Mr. Lee Chang-bae; Director of the Korea-Indonesia Forest Center (KIFC) Mr. Oh Key-pyo and Indonesia Co-Director KIFC Mr. Sugeng Marsudiarto.
Attending the event from Perhutani side were Director of Forest Resources Management Perum Perhutani, Heru Siswanto, together with his Team from Regional Office of Perum Perhutani in Bogor and West Java. Mr. Heru Siswanto representing the President Director of Perum Perhutani. Also attending the the event was Dr. Upik Rosalina, a member of the Supervisory Board of Perum Perhutani.
On that occasion, PT. KIFC and Perum Perhutani also handed over sport equipments and school supplies for elementary school students around the site of harvesting and also cloth to the local farmers.

The cooperation between PT. KIFC and Perum Perhutani was started in 2007 with the total area for planting cooperation is 10,000 hectares. Until May 2015, the total area that has already planted is 7424.19 hectares, scattered in Banten 1.480, 15 hectares, at Bogor 728,42 hectares, at Purwakarta 2.105,77 hectares, at Sumedang 2.681,7 hectares, at Majalengka 181,8 hectares and 246,35 hectares at Indramayu. The species planted in those areas is Accacia mangium.
The plantation that will be harvested this year was planted in 2007 with the total area is 40 hectares, scattered in Parung Panjang-Bogor 24,2 hectares, and in Sumedang 15,8 hectares.
Mr. Lee Seok-Hyung (NFCF Chairman) started the harvesting by felling down one tree.
